The Pioneering Achievement of RLX Titanium
The Deepsea Challenge marks a historic milestone as the first Rolex to be crafted entirely from RLX titanium. This choice of material renders the watch surprisingly light and comfortable on the wrist despite its robust dimensions – approximately 30% lighter than the experimental steel prototype. The intense satin finish lends the model a technical and matte aesthetic that clearly distinguishes it visually from traditional polished watches.
Engineering for the Depths: 11,000 Metres
Designed to withstand extreme deep-sea pressure, this model is water-resistant to an incredible depth of 11,000 metres. The heart of this resilience is the patented Ringlock system, which uses a nitrogen-alloyed steel ring to absorb pressure on the 9.5 mm thick sapphire crystal. Additionally, the helium escape valve ensures that excess gas can safely escape during the decompression phase without damaging the case.
Imposing Presence and Calibre 3230
With a diameter of 50 mm, this is the largest commercial watch in Rolex's history, ensuring maximum legibility through the long-lasting blue glow of the Chromalight display. This giant is powered by the manufacture Calibre 3230 movement, equipped with the Chronergy escapement and blue Parachrom hairspring to offer supreme precision and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
